A Muskegon County man recently won a top prize of $500,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Luxury Cashword instant game. The 38-year-old player bought his winning ticket at Holton Foods on 8764 Holton Duck Lake Road in Holton, about 15 miles northeast of Muskegon. He was shopping at the grocery store with his wife when he purchased two Luxury Cashword tickets.

When he got home, the player scratched the tickets and saw that he’d won the $500,000 prize, but he didn’t get excited because he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. However, once his wife, mother, and one of his friends looked over the ticket, it started to sink in that he had really won.

“Winning is such a blessing!” said the lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous. The player has already claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters and plans to use the winnings to complete home improvements and make investments.

The Luxury Cashword instant game has paid players more than $7 million since launching in March. Tickets cost $10 each and give players a chance to win instant prizes of $10 up to $500,000. There are still more than $53 million in prizes remaining, including two top prizes of $500,000 and 46 prizes of $1,000 each.

More than 100 in-store instant games are available from the Michigan Lottery and can be purchased at one of the 10,500 retailers throughout the state. Many games still have top prizes remaining, including $6,000,000 Jackpot and $300,000,000 Diamond Riches, each of which still has one of their $6 million top prizes available.

Other in-store instant games like Extreme Cash, $200,000,000 Riches, and VIP Millions still have at least one top prize of $4 million remaining. There are also ten other in-store instant games, like Fortune, Diamond Payout, Max Your Millions, and $80 million Cash Payout, that still have at least one top prize of $2 million left to be won.

Players can find the nearest Lottery retailer by going to MichiganLottery.com/resources and entering the game they want to play and their current location. Michigan Lottery players have won more than $1.7-billion playing instant games.
