An unnamed 52-year-old woman from Lapeer County in southeastern Michigan almost took a tumble after realizing she had won a $40,000 prize playing the Tax-Free instant game.

She was playing the Tax-Free game on her iPad in bed before calling it a night. The lucky winner, who opted to remain anonymous recalls being pretty tired. However, when she saw a popup message on the screen saying she’d won, it all changed. That’s when she nearly fell trying to get out of bed.
“Once I had my balance I ran downstairs and woke my husband up to have him confirm what I was seeing. I don’t think we even slept for three hours that night.”
The unnamed 52-year-old woman player recently visited MI Lottery offices in Lansing to claim her big prize.
The cash injection couldn’t have come at a better time. She plans to pay bills and make some home renovations.
“Winning couldn’t have come at a better time,” she said.
