What would you do if one day you woke up, and found yourself half a million dollars richer? That’s the exact question Jamie Lupo and his wife encountered one ordinary morning, thanks to a ticket Lupo had purchased early at the Tuscola Express Stop, located at 56 South Tuscola Road in Bay City, Bay County, Michigan.
Jamie Lupo, a 45-year-old man from Bay City in Bay County says winning one of just three, Michigan Lottery’s Triple Bonus Cashword instant game’s, top prizes has changed his life forever.
“My wife and I had won $60 on tickets we’d bought earlier in the day, so I bought a few more on my way home,” said Lupo. “When we scratched the ticket off, I said: “This looks like a lot of words, I think we might have 10!”
“I must have counted the words on the ticket 100 times, just to make sure we really had them all. And even then, I couldn’t believe we’d won $500,000!”
The happy duo filed the claims paperwork and visited Lottery headquarters last Friday to collect their $500,000 prize. With the winnings, they plan to buy a new home, invest in his small landscaping business, and share a few hundred dollars with family.
“To me, winning this $500K is like winning $500 million. You always think: ‘What would it be like if I won big?’ Lupo further explained.
