It’s been a very profitable year for players of the Michigan Lottery, and that trend continued for a 31-year-old Bay City woman. Anna Marquez was the lucky recipient of $1 million from a drawing that was held back on March 5th.
Marquez was able to match all five of the white balls, and those numbers were 02-49-59-61-70 to score a massive prize. The winning ticket was purchased online at MichiganLottery.com, and that has been how a number of winners have cashed in so far this year.
After claiming her big prize at the Michigan Lottery headquarters, Marquez said that she was looking forward to becoming a homeowner. Each Mega Millions ticket is just $2, and the drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday.
Players also have a chance to purchase a Megaplier for an extra dollar, and that can increase the prize that is won. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 different states throughout the country, but it seems like many Michigan residents are having a ton of success playing this game in 2024.
For those that purchase a lottery ticket online through the Michigan Lottery, they can also track the results and be notified automatically if they are a winner.
Powerball Prize Handed Out
The Powerball Jackpot continues to rise as the jackpot was nearing $1.1 billion for the drawing to be held on April 3rd. While someone could end up walking away with that massive prize, a Michigan man was able to take home $100,000 by matching four white balls and the powerball.
That drawing was held back on March 20th, and it was a man from Lenawee County that walked away with the nice prize. Charles Kempher of Jasper was the lucky winner during this drawing, and the 75-year-old is someone that routinely plays the Powerball game.
This winning ticket was bought in-store at a Meijer, and Kempher purchased the Power Play which ended up doubling his winnings. By matching four balls and the powerball, his prize was initially just $50,000, but he doubled up with the Power Play.
Kempher and his wife visited the Lottery headquarters to claim their prize, and they intend to fix up their home with the winnings. Each Powerball ticket comes at a cost of just $2, but the Power Play can be added for an extra $1.
