David Constantakis, 68, and his wife are celebrating a significant win after securing a portion of the $697,974 Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery. They were among three winners, each receiving $232,658. The winning numbers from the July 12 drawing were 08-17-18-24-29, and Constantakis purchased his ticket during a vacation stop in Frankfort.
Constantakis bought the winning ticket at the Family Fare store on 1002 Forest Avenue while grabbing snacks for a canoe trip. After the drawing, he checked the ticket at the store and was advised to consult with the retailer. When his wife later checked the winning numbers online, she noted that if their ticket had 24 and 29, they would be “sitting pretty.” To their delight, these numbers were on their ticket.
Constantakis claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters. With their winnings, the couple plans to pay off their home, make charitable donations, and save the remaining funds.
The jackpot was shared by winners from Wayne, Macomb, and Isabella counties.
