A lucky player from Wayne County thought someone was playing a joke when he received an email telling him he’d won $100,000 playing the Lottery’s $6,000,000 Jackpot second chance game.
The 43-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, was selected for the monthly prize in a random drawing on April 27 after earning entries by scanning his non-winning $6,000,000 Jackpot tickets on the Michigan Lottery mobile app.
He says he’s been playing the $6,000,000 game a lot and scanned his ticket after he learned there was a second chance element to the game. So when he received an email from the Lottery informing him that he’d won, he thought it was a joke.
He then called the Lottery to confirm the email was legit and then found out he had actually won. He said he was “shocked,” and didn’t expect the reality of the win to sink in for some time. The player has already picked up his big prize at Lottery headquarters and indicated that he plans on putting it into savings.
$6,000,000 Jackpot Game Details
The $6,000,000 Jackpot costs $50 to play and gives players a chance to win from $50 to $6 million, with two top prizes still remaining. To win, players must match any of YOUR NUMBERS to any of the ticket’s WINNING NUMBERS to win the prize shown below. There are also 55 prizes of $50,000 remaining to be won.
Players can also uncover multipliers that increase the prize to 2X, 10X, 100X, or 500X the winning amount. Getting a ‘STAR’ symbol in any JACKPOT BONUS spot pays players the prize shown below that spot.
Non-winning $6,000,000 Jackpot tickets are eligible for a second chance to win prizes from $500 up to $100,000. Players can submit entries by scanning those tickets using the Michigan Lottery mobile app’s ticket scanner before September 1, 2023.
Five more second chance drawings are coming up, each awarding one $100,000 prize, five $10,000 prizes, twenty $1,000 prizes, and sixty $500 prizes.
